Purpose-built in the hills outside Austin, the Circuit of the Americas is a modern classic that borrows from the best corners in the world. Its signature opening is the steep, blind uphill climb to Turn 1, a sharp left-hander cresting a hill that becomes a magnet for first-lap drama. From there the lap unfurls into a flowing esses sequence inspired by Silverstone's Maggotts and Becketts and Suzuka's snaking middle sector, before a long back straight rewards slipstreaming and braking bravery. Notable elevation change throughout tests both car and driver, while the wide tarmac and multiple lines encourage overtaking. Lively grandstands and a festival atmosphere have made COTA the centrepiece of Formula 1's American expansion, and a genuine drivers' favourite.
